Some stories can’t be written on a computer or told from behind a desk. Ours is one.
Pine & Pear Apothecary began as a personal healing journey through aromatherapy and organically evolved into a business idea. What started as a few homemade blends created during a season of soul-searching and a readiness to face trauma has become something much bigger. It has become an ongoing exploration of place, purpose, and a holistic approach to healing the body, mind, and Spirit. It has led to the desire to become certified in aromatherapy and a student of the Earth’s elements (those who know me are familiar with my recent and somewhat out-of-hand obsession with digging for rocks). My 18-year-old self is saying, “Hell yeah, older self! Welcome back.”
Our artisan oil blends are the product (made for any and all genders), but they don’t exist without the project and the purpose behind it. My best friend Ovi (my carefree, goofball dog and stellar rockhound) and I will periodically travel the backroads of Minnesota and Arizona in a BOHO camper van, trading routine for red rock and conformity for curiosity. Although Ovi will sit out the majority of the Arizona trips, for the most part, we will chase light energy, collect stories, and blend the Earth’s raw beauty into small glass bottles together (Ovi will likely steal the show).
This isn’t an excuse for a few road trips, regardless of how much fun we have. It’s a study in how place, Spirit, and purpose can come together to create something healing, honest, and enduring.
Access matters, so we are choosing to travel by camper van - not for the trend, but for the terrain. Naturally, we chose BOHO Vans to be our home away from home. Traveling in a BOHO Van will allow us to access the landscapes that already inspire our artisan oil blends. You’ll find us at mystical vortex sites charging crystals with light energy to infuse our oils. You’ll find us paying reverence to the indigenous people of Arizona and Minnesota, honoring their land, their exquisite art, their stories, and Spirit. We’ll visit ghost towns, curious about their past and the way the towns’ mines shaped history as we rockhound along the way. You’ll find us in autumn forests, deep canyons, frozen trails, and colorful deserts. No place is off limits unless it is actually off limits. We source our rocks and gems and dry our herbs, but we vow not to take, only give.
No matter where we go, the camera will roll, be it a GoPro mounted to my head or a professional team of talented visual storytellers who “get us” as much as the BOHO Van team does. Each chapter of the journey will be shared via social media and will be a behind-the-scenes chronicle of the project as it unfolds.
Each destination and the experiences we have during these adventures will be the literal essence of our small-batch essential oil blends. Each collection will be inspired by nature, charged with intention, and blended to capture each destination’s vibe. We believe this will result in marvelous, unique scents for all genders and create an opportunity to craft exceptional custom blends (you can read more about our custom blends in the product section). The recipes we craft and stories we will tell will be raw, real, and unscripted, but the inspiration is already written in the stars.
Pine & Pear Apothecary (which is our abbreviation of pinecone and prickly pear cactus) isn’t just a product line. It’s a living project - one that honors the stories of the land, the people who came before, and the personal transformation that happens when you follow the call to create.
